ach month our lineup of features is as diverse as the region we are celebrating: We're proud to run a special investigation of Broadwater opposite original fiction. Our goal is to ensure there is something for everyone.

hen it came to the nuts and bolts of putting Long Island Pulse together, we weighed the challenges the average Long Islander faces during the Daily Grind to come up with a lineup of columnists who would speak to the issues we are living in the workplace. Columns you'll regularly find in the business section focus on networking, legal issues, financial goals, human resources, news bits and profiles of "good people doing good things".

hen comes our focus on Long Island entertainment. Great Dates of Long Island will give you a few ways to ditch the dinner and a movie cliche for a first date, special occasion date, date with mom, or a date with an old friend. Or, if you need some alone time, check out our Lonely Long Islander segment for the skinny on all sorts of things you could do alone. Pulse will also show you where and how to Live the Arts
with reviews, previews and other information on music, film and the visual and performing arts. And to make sure no stone is left unturned, check in with Betsy for At Home Style, Krausse for his perspective on the Queer Isle, Healthy Vain
and Mirror Mirror for news on local health and beauty trends, Sports Minded for who's doing what in sports, our famous last page—the Pulse Rate—for the strange but true facts about Long Island and the Long Island Planner when you need a quick reference on where to go and what to do.

ong Island being a restaurant culture, we wanted to offer more than the usual "eat here now". Chris Miller, one of 115 Court of MS Advanced Sommeliers in the world, helps get Long Island's wine world under our nails. Foodie Richard Jay Scholem handles three food reviews each month. The Men's Club, The Red Zone and Ladies Night Out all fill in the gap on how to stay "merry". And our dining guide, recipe corner and restaurant gossip column round out the mix.

e sure to check out Pulse's signature Fantasy Friday. Each month readers tell us what they've always wanted to be when they grow up. We take them on an excursion around the Island to live it out and it all gets chronicled in the following month's issue.

idn't we tell you there is something for everyone?
